What a place…Best gym I’ve ever been to. Several years ago when I was in my mid 50s, I was persuaded to join a gym for the first time. The coaches at Fortitude quickly made any worries disappear quickly and I have loved it ever since. This is a community gym, everyone is very friendly and the coaches are always on hand to help and support you.

I joined Fortitude in February this year with aims to 1) improve fitness 2) lose weight and 3) not feel alone doing so. The gym has not disappointed and I’ve succeeded with all three aims. 1) When I first started, I could only manage a few visits a week because I ached so much in between visits, using muscles that had been dormant; I can tell I’m stronger because (despite still aching appropriately) I could come every day and I’m increasing my skills and weights. 2) I have lost weight and can now fit into some summer dresses that were alluding me last year; the weight itself has become less of an obsession in exchange for improved aesthetics and feeling healthier and stronger. 3) I was very clear with Josh that I didn’t want to feel I was doing the gym thing alone; I’m so impressed with the hour session model because no matter what level one is at, you feel like you’re ‘in it together’. The community is very friendly and good humoured, and as a single parent I feel ‘seen’, which has added to my general wellbeing. Keep up the good work, guys!read more

Fortitude is the best! I used to drive by thinking this place was crazy, watching them push tractor tyres around and carrying kettle bells around the car park like some insane strong man/women contest, and it would never be my scene. 7 months in and I’m hooked (its actually not that crazy) it’s actually supportive, friendly, relaxed and fun, the best exercise classes I’ve ever been too. Actually love this place.
